Ticketed passengers with a valid boarding pass for a connecting flight may remain in the terminals overnight. However, security announcements continue to play intermittently throughout the night and there is no designated sleeping area. View our Airport Access Restricted Policy, effective Mar. 24, 2025.

Security checkpoints open at 4:00 a.m. in Terminal A and 4:15 a.m. in Terminal B. Only ticketed passengers are allowed past security checkpoints. Once through the security checkpoint, access to all restaurants and retail options in both Terminal A and Terminal B are available to all travelers.   • Terminal A: American, Delta, Frontier, Hawaiian, Spirit, United, Volaris
  • Terminal B: Alaska, Southwest, ZIPAIR      
    Note: though ZIPAIR's ticket counters are located in Terminal B, flights depart from Terminal A. 

SJC does not have currency exchange services available on-site. However, many banks provide currency exchange services. One nearby option is Currency Exchange International, located at the Great Mall in Milpitas, approximately 8 miles from the airport. Travelers are encouraged to plan ahead for their currency needs.
